I do have a FO to show off! I finished knitting a Lonely Tree Shawl back in 2013, but never got around to actually weaving in the ends and blocking it. We all hate finishing, and I am no exception. I had offered to help out at the Grand Opening celebration of the Yarn Maven, so naturally I needed something knitted to wear. I spent the evening before the event blocking this and I am pretty happy with the final product.
To put that in perspective, here's a pic the night I finished it...
|I was a lil baby!|
The yarn is called Twisted. It was a souvenir from my mom's trip to Alaska. It is absolutely stunning in person.
I have also cast-on my Crackerjack socks. I am knitting them for the Phillies season using Brown Sheep Nature Spun yarn. I am really excited to have these, and I think the idea is just brilliant. I love little knitted mementos like this.
I also had the first class in a sock knitting course being taught by The Yarn Maven. Now, I've knit socks using dpns before, but she was teaching using two circulars, and that's something I've always wanted to learn. I don't have a WIP pictures yet, but I'm using Opal yarn that I bought just for these.
I do have to say that I am not too crazy about this yarn. I've come into a lot of yarn vomit and it seems to tangle pretty easily. It's not so bad that I wouldn't use it again, but I decided to wind it into a cake and knit from the outside. Next time I will probably knit from the outside in.
I'm still making progress on my Doodler Shawl, but need to update my progress pic. I finished the cable at the top of the shawl and have done three of the four repeats of the last section. I just have my final bind-off section left to do after this repeat. I am so close to the end I can taste it!
