The Doodler, Take 2

I've been making some progress on the Stephen West shawl that I restarted.  My wife was kind enough to take this picture for me the other night of how far I've gotten.

It's a fun, quick pattern and I'm glad that I forced myself to restart it right away, otherwise I don't know that I would have.

I've been spending time at our brand new local yarn store, The Yarn Maven!  Before this shop opened, the closest to my house were at least a 40 minute drive away.  The shop with the best selection was not the friendliest or most welcoming place, but I dealt with it for yarn needs.

The Yarn Maven is a solid 3 minute drive from my house.  I could walk, but it's cold, I'm a wuss, and that's time away from knitting!  Twice a week they have formal knitting group events, Wednesday nights and Saturday morning/early afternoon.  I've been trying to go at least once a week because I just feel so much better as a person when I do.

Callie also got me some bath bombs this week from Lush.  Monday was a terrible, horrible, no-good, very bad day for me, which has snowballed into just a shit-show of a week.  She has been so good about helping me out around the house and taking care of me.

Tomorrow morning we are having our first meeting of our book club!  We read the book A Thousand Splendid Suns, so I'm excited to get together with some awesome ladies to eat brunch and talk about it.
