These are a few of my favorite things

So, I work in politics. It's an election year. We have a primary, which in Delaware is in September. As I'm sure you can guess, my life is insane right now. Some days, I spend all day at my desk on Ravelry, browsing the forums, and not a single message in my inbox all day. Other days, it's the complete opposite. Every time I respond to one email, there are three new ones. Today was one of those days. It was nonstop. It makes time go by a lot faster than just perusing the internet does, but at the end of the day I am exhausted. I am stressed and overwhelmed. Unfortunately, politics is also one of those jobs that doesn't stop when the clock hits five. I am constantly on the job, day or night, seven days a week. The only way to keep going in a high-pressure, high-stress job like this is to know how to relax, to have an outlet (or ten) for all the stress.

I have a whole slew of coping mechanisms for dealing with stress.  I love to read, that was the first ever strategy I had for dealing with tough times.  It is so easy to escape into a good book, to step outside of yourself and fall into someone else's story.  I will read almost anything.  I am a fanatic for the Harry Potter series, but I have a pretty eclectic bookshelf.  Fiction, nonfiction, romance, social criticisms, horror, and YA.  Most recently, I finished a book called Candy Girl by Diablo Cody.

Today, I just needed something  bit more comforting and caloric.

Yep, that's my life right now.  Pomegranate raspberry tea, shortbread cookies, and a batman blanket (unpictured...obviously).   What do you do to relax after long day?  I always love hearing how other people unwind.

Which, conveniently brings us to our Etsy Dive!  Today's mug was hand-painted by the beautiful and amazing Miss Mile!  Now, full disclosure, she is a good friend of mine, but that doesn't make her mugs and glasses any less incredible!  We have bought two mugs and two wine glasses from her, and I absolutely love them.  She takes custom orders, which is perfect for bridal parties or toasting glasses!  Her shop is currently on hiatus, but this is definitely one you want to watch.

For now, I must leave you.  Sorry for the short post, as I mentioned right now is crazy for me.
